The last use of amiibo in the game is the one I find the most interesting. Each of these amiibo can only be used once per day so as to not unbalance the game too much – it’d be silly if you were effectively invincible because you paid for a toy, wouldn’t it? It’s not a super involved use of the figures, but it saves you some time when you’re out in the field I guess. If you tap the Link or Toon Link amiibo onto the GamePad, then it will instantly replenish your supply of arrows, while the Zelda and Sheik amiibo will replenish your hearts. Thankfully bundled amiibo usually end up being sold separately from the game in stores, so you won’t need to buy Twilight Princess HD to access this content if it doesn’t interest you. It’s been stated that the Wolf Link amiibo will interact with the new Zelda Wii U game coming out eventually, but no details have been provided. When you complete this dungeon you can save onto your amiibo the number of hearts you had left at the end, so that you can try to beat your record when you replay the dungeon in the future. It sounds similar to the Cave of Ordeals from the original game. This amiibo will unlock access to the ‘Cave of Shadows’ dungeon, in which you’ll need to fight consecutive waves of enemies. The main amiibo feature comes from the bundled Wolf Link amiibo. For the most part it’s nothing major, but there’s one use in particular that’s pretty quirky. So with all this in mind, let’s take the opportunity to recap what amiibo usage the game will have. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is getting a rerelease on Wii U next Saturday, and comes bundled with an exclusive Wolf Link amiibo.
